2011 Tennis Official’ Training School in Iowa

A tennis officials training will take place on Sunday, June 12, 1-5 p.m. at the North Dodge Athletic Club in Iowa City, IA. This school is for new officials. Hand-outs and a 2011 rule book, Friend-At-Court, will be provided at no cost. Read More
 

Chair Umpire School in Iowa City

There will be a chair umpire school on May 14 in Iowa City, for anyone interested in becoming a chair umpire. Read More
 

Officials Section School Scheduled for January 22-23, 2011

The Officials Section School, taught by a National Trainer, is scheduled for Saturday, January 22 and Sunday, January 23, at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel. Officials with less than three (3) years experience and all new officials must attend the Sunday class. Classes will be held at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel, 6100 College Blvd, Overland Park, KS 66211. Read More
 

Kansas District Searching for Officials

The Kansas district wants to get more officials! KDTA will be sponsoring a January 22-23, 2011, officials training. Veteran officials attend on 1/22/11, and new officials training will be held on 1/23/11. We will cover toll costs and mileage for anyone who wishes to get certified. Read More

Farley to officiate at Special Olympics World Games in Shanghai

Longtime USTA Missouri Valley official Donna Farley was recently selected for a big honor. The 15-year official and North Liberty, Iowa resident was recently chosen as one of five international referees who will take part in the Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Shanghai, China, Oct. 2-11. On Court With - Steve Webb

Steve Webb has been working in tennis for eight years, but has been a part of tennis nearly his whole life. After a career in banking and telecommunications, he found a job at Cooper Tennis Complex located in Springfield, Missouri. He found the job to be much less stressful and it also provided him an opportunity to be around a sport he loved. Since joining Cooper, Webb has also become a USTA official which he says, “is a job that never gets boring.” Read More
